Having always been a keen sportswoman Jackie has participated in County
Athletics, equestrian activities with eventing and show jumping,
motocrossing, water-skiing, long distance running and finally now,….
powerboat racing.
Jackie purchased her first powerboat, a 20 foot monohull called "Phatal
Attraction" back in 1998 and was hooked from day one. She raced in a number
of basic races in this boat before purchasing a 24 foot monohull "BatBoat"
based on the Ocke Mannerfelt stepped hull. Racing in Class III 2-litre, she
competed in the UK national championships, winning the "Cowes Ladies Trophy"
for best performance by a lady in 1999, and the Royal Motor Yacht Club
championship in 2000.

Mike Shelton comes from a background of rally driving, sky diving, hang
gliding and hockey at county levels. Mike says that Powerboat racing is very
like rally driving except that the “road moves”! Mike has served as race
co-ordinator for BIBOA in 2003 and 2004 as well as serving on the RYA's
Offshore Race Committee in 2004.
